Milk Quality and Care Study
This four-week usability study evaluates prototype milk freshness strips and app-based photo analysis for at-home use with small non-feeding milk samples.
Study Activities
- Receive a mailed kit with Storage Scout and Fresh Check prototype strips, droppers, instructions, and a color-reference chart.
- Use small milk samples that are not intended for infant feeding.
- Photograph test strips after color develops and record results in the PumpKin app when scanner access is available.
- Complete brief weekly feedback surveys about the strips, instructions, and app experience.
Who May Be Eligible
- Lactating participant, age 18 to 50.
- Have an infant or child up to 24 months old.
- Currently pumping or expressing milk and actively storing milk for later use.
- Live in the United States and have a reliable shipping address for the study kit.
- Have a smartphone with reliable internet and photo upload capability.
- Able to read and understand English study materials.
- Able to commit to about four weeks of testing and weekly feedback.

- PumpKin app scanner access will only be enabled after the study team grants that capability.

- Submitting interest does not enroll you in the study.
- Prototype strip results are for research and usability evaluation only. They are not for feeding, medical, diagnostic, or safety decisions.
- There is no compensation for participation in this study.
